If I had to pick a news outlet to publish my adaptation article, I think I’d pick Natural Geographic for a few reasons. For starters, I grew up reading Natural Geographic both in school and outside of academics. It was always really interesting no matter the topic and they seem to always know how to catch and keep a reader’s attention.  For example, one article that immediately caught my attention was one that asked if the dinosaurs would have died regardless of the asteroid. Natural Geographic likes to include different multimodal compositions to make their articles more involved. The first thing I saw that drew my attention was the illustration of dinosaurs roaming the earth. Then the creative title written in big bold letters further tested my interest. The image and title were as follows...

"Would dinosaurs have died without an asteroid strike? Here's the science."

Having them publish my article would guarantee a large audience and a good representation of the research I’m adapting but in order to get my article published by them, I'd need to make sure that just like most of their articles, my paper is interesting and is something that a large audience would find entertaining. In doing so, I’d need to paraphrase the scientific article to make it more understandable for the general public. I’d also need to explain the exigence of the research study and be able to relate it back to the audience so that they’re involved. Including images or videos would better fit the style of articles usually published on Natural Geographic. On the other hand, I cannot have scientific symbols, tables, or terms as they wouldn’t be easily interpreted by those not in the field. Of course, reading about methane contamination in water doesn't seem too appealing, but if I can connect it to the audience and explain how this is happening in their neighborhoods I will certainly win their attention!!
