No Place Like Boone

I’ve decided I want to use one of my wild cards this week to tell you about my trip to Boone this past spring break. As I’ve mentioned before, I felt an exigency to go see my friends at App State and that’s exactly what I did. After taking care of some business at home, I went on a three-hour bus ride straight to Boone Thursday afternoon and surprised everyone. It was super entertaining watching everyone’s reaction when they weren’t expecting to see me standing there. There’s just something about being in a small town in the middle of the mountains that instantly puts me in a good mood.

We spent some time in my old hall jamming out to Just dance on a friend’s laptop, chatting, and reliving the past. I ended up sleeping on my friend Clarissa’s floor and walking down to my floor in the mornings. And while half the floor went to bed early because they had classes the next day, a good handful of us didn’t have classes and ended up staying up ‘till six in the morning running through the rain, screaming song lyrics, and overall being the obnoxiously loud group that we are.

I honestly had a blast being back at Appalachian State. Everyone was super chill, and it was overall a great time. We went out for pizza, watched the Saint Patrick’s Day parade, went out for Ice cream, and even went to watch my old RA get her ears pierced all in a day’s work.

I think the most memorable thing for me was getting to go to the parkway with a few gals and watch the sun set. The view was amazing. The sky was shades of pink and the water was crystal clear. The drive up the mountain was also extremely satisfying and oddly relaxing. On our way up we passed a view of mountains

left and right of us.

Overall it was a pretty fun spring break. I even enjoyed the bus ride! It was fairly empty, so I had the whole row to myself. 10/10 would go again.
