Last week we were introduced to a term I'd never heard of before taking this class. The term was “Exigency”. Basically, what it means is a sudden urge or demand to do something. Of course, this would be dependent on time and opportunity. For example, feeling the need to accomplish something in a specific time limit. Now that you know what it means... let me tell you a little about my current exigency.

I spent my first semester of college at Appalachian State University and I can honestly say that it was the best semester of my life. I went into college not sure what to expect and made more friends than I thought possible. My hall had a great community and we all really enjoyed each other's company. That being said, leaving everyone behind was really hard and sort of took its toll on me. And so, I began feeling a sudden exigency to visit Boone and surprise everyone. The ideal time to do this would be this spring break. I’ve noticed that our spring break is a week after theirs, which is perfect because everyone will be back in time for me to go and see them during my break. I’ve only got one shot at this, because after this semester, everyone will move out of the dorm and go in their own directions so if I want to see everyone together like the good old days, I have to take this opportunity.

I’m SO excited to go back and see everyone again!! I occasionally facetime a few friends and I get snapchats from everyone letting me know they miss me, but that only makes being away harder. I feel like getting to see everyone together one more time will help me get past some things and begin building a community here. The plan is to hopefully take the train back home and spend the weekend there, then head to Boone that Monday and spend the week there.

See you guys soon :)
